ÇOKFONİK
Founded in 2012 in Adana, Çokfonik aims not only to promote polyphonic music but also to introduce and instill choral culture to people of all ages working toward the goal that “everyone should have a choir.” The choir is conducted by Semin Süeda Sirel Çölcü, with Ahmet Can Dağlıoğlu serving as assistant conductor. Growing each year with the participation of new choristers, the choir is composed entirely of amateur music enthusiasts from various professional backgrounds.
As of February 2015, Çokfonik completed its formal establishment as the Adana Çokfonik Music Association. It has a diverse polyphonic repertoire ranging from Turkish Folk Music to Western Classical Music, and from Pop to Jazz.
Since its inception, the choir has performed concerts in Adana and surrounding provinces within various organizations. It has participated in events such as the Orange Blossom Carnival in April in Adana, the 16th, 17th, 18th, and 19th Nevit Kodallı Polyphonic Choirs Festival, the 20th, 24th, and 26th Turkish Choirs Festival, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th Izmir Polyphonic Choirs Festival, the 2015 and 2019 Çanakkale Choirs Festivals, the 2016 TRNC International Choirs Festival, and the 2nd Cappadocia Choirs Festival in 2024.
